New Lake District Wedding Fair Revealed
With the Lake District region already a popular and dare we say famous destination for weddings - in spite of the poor weather we're also famous for - a group of wedding planners and venues backed by Cumbria Tourism are about to throw their bouquets behind the area's latest and largest wedding fair.
Perfectly timed for just after Valentine's Day next year, the first ever Lake District Wedding Fayre will be held at the J36 Auction Centre, just off the M6 on the way to Kendal, on February 23rd and 24th 2019. The aims of the fair are to firstly promote the Lakes as the ultimate romantic wedding destination and secondly to bring venues, suppliers, promoters, organisers and wedding services providers together under one roof for the first time, making them more accessible than ever for couples looking to host their weddings in the Lake District.
Among the venues quick to claim their place among the exhibitors are Kendal's Castle Green Hotel and Cumbria Tourism's 'Wedding Venue of the Year,' the Broadoaks Country House at Troutbeck near Windermere. Guests will also be able to talk face to face with photographers, florists, bridalwear suppliers and entertainers and in many cases sample their services. It's understood that hen, stag and honeymoon providers will also be present - complimenting the overall exhibition and catering for many different couples.
Nick Hood, a professional show and event organiser has teamed up with experienced local wedding coordinators Joe and Agata Nichols to create the event. Hood is optimistic: "The Lake District is now a famous wedding destination, with brides and grooms travelling from near and far to get married here. The Lake District Wedding Fair will be a natural place to come and meet the best of the region’s venues and wedding suppliers in one space. Beautifully laid out and organised to best reflect what today’s brides are looking for, The Lake District Wedding Fair will welcome exhibitors from across the region to promote their expertise to couples and their families, as they start to plan their weddings.”
Joe Nichols was equally excited about the event, telling Cumbria Crack; “It’s no surprise The Lake District is host to so many nuptials each year as it is one of the country’s most scenic and inspiring wedding destinations. But never before has one event given couples the chance to meet all of the areas wedding professionals in one place. The fair will not only give couples the chance to discuss their requirements face to face with suppliers of all areas of the wedding sector, but we will also offer a range of unique features aimed to inspire couples and support them with planning their day.”
