New Website Launched to Build Kendal Tourism

Local festival and event listings, tips for shopping and eating-out and detailed maps of the area are just the tip of the iceberg at a new website aimed at boosting tourism in the Kendal area.Visit Kendal - now live and located at - is a treasure trove of information designed to provide both new and returning visitors to the town with all the information they could ever need.Site users can find daytime activities and things to do within the 'Active & Adventure' and Arts sections of the site, and collect ideas for how to spend their evenings in the town using tips from the 'Kendal by Night' section, which looks at bars, restaurants and the latest live music and entertainment in the area. Visitors with a taste for shopping can find out about Kendal's markets and shopping centres.Perhaps one of the most useful resources the site offers is the 'Plan Your Visit' section - where users can view accomodation and information on getting around including by train and bus. There are also handy trail and pathway guides for those getting around town on foot. The site was funded in part by Kendal Town Council, South Lakeland District Council and Kendal BID, and Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron is already a fan of the project: “Whether you’re looking for tips on where to eat or where to visit, what to see or what to do, this new website is the place to go. It will provide a useful guide for visitors to our area and give a welcome boost to tourism in our area and to local businesses."If you're planning a trip to the Lakes and want to find out more about what Kendal has to offer, visit today.
