After 5 months of being closed after part of the road was washed away thanks to Storm Desmond on the 6th December 2015, the A591 between Grasmere and Keswick has been fixed and was officially reopened yesterday! As well as being a huge inconvenience to anyone wanting to get between Grasmere and Keswick as it meant a lengthy diversion it has also had a huge blow on the local economy estimated at a cost of 1m a day.
